EYFS visit to Slapton
Tom Pinches (Ranger from Slapton Ley Field Centre)
'It was a pleasure to have such well-behaved and inquisitive children'
Class Endeavour and our school starters from Little Lanterns had a wonderful trip to Slapton Ley. After being dropped at Strete Gate by Parents the children walked down to Slapton spotting signs, flowers and objects along the way. We had lots of interest and questions about the broken road. Children had the chance to pond dip on the Ley. They found shrimps, water boatmen, pond skaters, caddisfly larvae and pond snails. All children took part in a bug hunt finding snails, ants, spiders, damselflies and crickets to name a few. Packed lunches were eaten on the beach before being taught some fun games by Tom and Helena our guides from the Field Centre. Thank you to Parents who came along to help for the day. A big well done to all the children for walking over two miles and being so enthusiastic throughout the day.
